From the Zapotok Waterfalls water first flows underground in rough gravel and comes to the surface only in heavy rain. The riverbed is very wide and changes with every heavy rain. The water only comes to the surface just before joining the Soca, below the lodge Koca pri izviru Soce.

Krn Lake is located at an altitude of 1340 m. It is 400 m long and 17 m deep and is considered the largest alpine lake. The lake is located in a basin below the Duplje alpine pasture and looks more like a larger water hole with grass covering its bottom. In the dry season the lake dries up, while in the rainy season it is about 80 x 60 m large.
