Bovec ethnological trail
The Tourist offspring of the Bovec elementary school has made a research paper "To je... etnološka tematska pot" (This is... an ethnological theme trail) in the school year 2004/2005 for the festival "Turizmu pomaga lastna glava" (Tourism can be helped by your own head) in Postojna at which they also won the first place. Than they achieved third place at the national festival in Kočevje and also got the gold award for the best exhibition. The exhibition was on show in the year 2004 in the Tourist information centre Bovec and in 2011 there was the opening of the Ethnological trail.
There are 11 billboards at which the travelers are given information on specific sights and attractions. The trail starts at the Stegulc house in the center of Bovec where there are three billboards about the development of Bovec (Medieval Bovec, Bovec under the Habsburgs, the image of Bovec before and after the Great War). At the Church of the Virgin Mary in the Field there are informations about the prehistory and ancient times, about the old square at the St. Ulrich church, ethnological billboards (inns and culinary arts) at the youth hostel, about troughts and the Bovec house architecture in Mala vas, about the culture and education at the Cultural house and something about recent history and the priject Alpe Jadran at the A station of the cablecar.
