Bovec Municipality - land friendly to mobile homes
Guests arriving with mobile homes are most welcome in the Bovec area. You can rest and buy supplies at the rest station in Bovec (the A-station of the Kanin Cable Car) or choose from numerous campsites in the valley that are adapted for mobile homes, where you can empty your reservoirs and get fresh water and electricity. Nature belongs to us all therefore we are also all responsible for it.
Apart from seeing the beautiful nature our valley is embellished with, you can also choose from various recreational activities, culturally historical sites, social events and enjoy the local cuisine. We have prepared five ideas for spending active and diverse holidays.
In Bovec, we have built a rest station Dvor, located at the A station of Kanin cable car. The station receives 14 mobile homes, you may stay there for 36 hours. For a longer stay, you may choose from number of camps in Bovec and Kobarid region.
You may add a visit to our neighbouring municipality Tercento/Čenta to your trip, and their resting station for mobile homes.
Cross-border cooperation
The Municipality of Bovec has been cooperating with the Municipality of Tarcento(Čenta) for many years now. They are preparing common projects of cross-border cooperation. This project of Mobile Homes tourism is one of them. The Tarcento(Čenta) town has a very beautiful rest station for mobile homes, therefore the Municipality of Bovec advises its visitors to take a look at the Italian side as well and visit this gem of the Friulian countryside.
Tarcento(Čenta) is known for its sacrificial bonfires for Epiphany (the 6th of January) that are lit as a sign of promised happiness for the whole country and for its summer solstice parties with bonfires on the water. This is why it is also called "the City of water and fire". Associations offer their guests numerous cultural, sports and entertainment events. You can visit specialized sports and cultural centres in the centre of the city or attractive exhibitions in the Frangipane aristocratic palace and in Villa Moretta. A multi-purpose centre called "Luciano Ceschia" can also be found in the city.
In August Tarcento(Čenta) becomes the scene of an event called “Festival dei Cuori” (the Festival of Hearts). This festival is one of the most famous international folklore festivals where young dancing and music groups from the whole world meet in the name of peace.
The Municipality of Tarcento(Čenta) has numerous walking trails available that lead to natural and cultural sights and stopping in the inns with typical culinary specialties. The area is also known for its superb wine with the geographic origin of the “Colli orientali” and “Ramandolo” areas.
Mobile Homes Tourism project
Project of the Municipality of Bovec called Mobile Homes Tourism is partially financed with EU funds, resources from the Phare Cross-Border Cooperation programme, a joint fund for small Slovenia-Italy projects 2003/004-940-02. The project is documented in the donation contract, number 7174601-01-02-0008. The cross-border partner of the Municipality of Bovec is the Municipality of Tarcento (Čenta).
